Disappointing products #7: Essence - Say NO to Dark Circles
Hello! Today I want to talk about a product that didn't work for me at all. It's by Essence and it's theirs Say NO to dark circles colour correcting concealer in shade 30 Bright rosé. I really have problems with my under eye area and I wanted to give it a try and see if this will do anything for me. Usually my under eye area gets a bit grey, blue-ish and purplish and I wanted to see if this would work, layered under and on top covered with another concealer that would be colour matching with my foundation.
Packaging of the product is simple and easy to use, plastic cap on top, colour of the packaging matching the colour of the product. Also good if you bought all three colour correcting concealers they offer, so you can easily pick the right one out. You can twist at the bottom to get more product out. Contains 2,9 grams of product and is good for another 12 months after opening. The price is 2,19 euros in Slovenia and it's pretty reasonable. It would be a perfect catch if it also worked.
It's a pinky concealer shaped in a pencil, doesn't need any sharpening and is easy to use and apply. What it's supposed to do? Cover your under eye area and especially cover your dark cirles.
What it actually does? Well, nothing. I used it just on my under eye area and blended it well, than applied my other concealer to match it up with my foundation and it didn't work well. The concealer just glided with the brush and my second concealer and it stuck to my brush all together and it didn't work at all. Than I tried applying only this one and cover the bright pink colour with powder, still didn't work as my dark circles were still visible and the product really creased. The creasing was visible within one hour of application. On me this product creases no matter what base I apply. I tried some face creams as I was just testing them, I tried my Oriflame eye cream, I tried Etude House primer and MaxFactor primer and well, the end result was always the same. So I stopped using the product and I must admit I really don't like it. It dissapointed me as it doesn't work for me at all. I did not notice even a slightest change so I must say this was a complete waste of money.

Empty products of the week 4 :)
Loved all of these three hair products. L'Oreal Paris Elseve Fibrology shampoo and conditioner are both amazing ( the shampoo is not in the photo as I threw it away too soon), I have already repurchased the shampoo and am using it at the moment... The products both smell very nice, the conditioner even better and also leaves your hair slightly scented. The effect on hair is also pretty good, makes them really soft and nourished and gives them a bit of volume and shine, they are easy to brush through... When I was first using this Fibrology line I had really long hair, I mean like almost longer than the length to half of my bottom and I was still able to see the difference. Now that my hair is cut short ( mid-back, that's short for me :P) I can say the effect is even more visible and this is something I really recommend and will continue to repurchase.
Next is AVON Advance Techniques 360 Nourishment Moroccan argan oil leave-in treatment for all hair types. I really liked this one, used it mainly as oil for my split ends, but at the time I was using this I had really long hair so I basically used it for the length from mid back to mid bottom, just applied a couple of pumps to my hands and spread it through my hair at the end. This really helped me seal al my split ends and nourish the part of my hair that was most under the impact because it was the longest and therefore had the least of it's natural nourishment. I would definitely repurchase this, plus the smell of the product is pretty amazing and I really loved it! It isn't too greasy or too dry and make your hair really soft and shiny, so I will definitely repurchase once I finish up the products I already have.
Last one here is again by L'Oreal Paris Elseve Arginine Resist Light Strengthening shampoo, which I was using during summertime and I must say it's pretty good. Leaves your scalp feeling refreshed but not too dry, also really good to use in summertime when you don't want to apply anything too heavy on your body, as it's hot already enough and you don't want to wash your hair every 12 hours.. Also suitable for anyone who has trouble with greasy hair as it is really light and doesn't cause any more problems with greasy scalp, it also helps keep your hair strong and nourished. I liked this a lot, but the Fibrology simply does it better for me. repurchase is a maybe for now...
And now some shower gels and daily intimate wash.. not much to say really. I just liked the secnt of these and bought them without any other expectations. I have used up Palmolive Aroma therapy Warm Vanilla shower gel, which really smells lovely and is perfect for anyone who loves vanilla scented products. I have also used up Oriflame Sweden Discover Hawaii Aloha Beach shower gel with the amazing pineapple scent and I must say this is a perfect summer shower gel, well unless you don't like pineapples.. The third shower gel here is actually called beauty shower gel by Naomi Campbell Queen of Gold. I have the perfume and I really love it. It's strong, warm, the scent of vanilla, a bit fruity, .. perfect for wintertime really, but I love to use this perfume all year round. Plus last product is Femfresh intimate hygiene daily wash, pH balanced. Not much to say really, it served it's purpose, behaved as it should and that's it. I usually don't repurchase shower gels or intimate wash, because there are so many out there to try and I just buy the ones I really like when in store. Though there is a chance I will be repurchasing the Palmolive Warm Vanilla shower gel as I liked it the most from the bunch.
And some mix of products I used up. Starting with Lush Ro's Argan Body conditioner, which I had for ages and only used it really rarely. I think it was past the date when I finally used it up, but I must say this really makes the difference for your skin. I used it on my legs, after shower, waited a bit than rinsed it off. There is no lotion, body butter or oil that had such an instant effect on my dry skin than this, however the scent is a bit odd and I don't like it, plus the product is pretty expensive, so I have decided not to repurchase it. If you have really dry skin on your body or just parts of your body, this will really help you. Next to it is a Nivea anti-perspirant powder touch deodorant. Just something I use everday and buy without much thinking. The only thing that I do consider is whether it's gonna cause me problems if I use it after shaving and white marks on clothes. This one behaved just fine, nothing special to say about it. Maybe I will repurchase, maybe not. And last one here is a hand cream by L'Occitane Fleurs Merveilleuses, which I also had for ages and finally finished it up this summer. A classic hand cream by L'Occitane, nice scent but not that nourishing... As it was limited edition I won't repurchase.
For face I have finished up this face toner by Balea for dry to senstive skin. It doesn't have alcohol so it's suitable to use everyday, I have finished up the bottle pretty fast, in about a month and a bit. It worked fine for me, nothing special to say about it. The price is pretty good, 1,99euros, so if you are using your toners really fast this could work for you. I used it in the morning after washing my face and the same in the evening, it didn't cause me any irritations or any other problems. It did get a bit soapy though, I noticed that after applying it to a cotton pad and starting to go through with it all over my face and neck it would leave a white mark of foam on my face, like some soap. So I guess it has something inside that doesn't need to be and I probably won't repurchase it. Next is AOK Pur Balance wasch gel for unclear skin after age of 20. This was pretty decent, used it in a couple of months. A drop gets you far and you really can keep this bottle for some time. Price is about 5 euros in Muller stores, which is quite ok, does the job well, but nothing special to say about it. I can say this didn't help me with my skin problems at all, it's just a cleanser for everday use.
And some makeup empties.. If you have been reading any of my posts you already know I love Bourjois and their makeup. So I also loved these two products! I have used up Healthy Balance 10hrs matt finish &natural healthy glow in shade 52 Vanilla and Happy light ultra -covering concealer in shade 21 Ivore. I must say both products are pretty good, especially loved the concealer and have already repurchased and am using one at the moment. The first time I have bought this concealer I got it for 2 euros at a special sale and than at DM store for about 6 euros, also a discont price, the regular one is about 8 I think.. Well, it is well worth every penny as it really covers up well any blemishes and redness I have. It's creamy and has a mirror inside and really stays put all day. I will keep repurchasing this one for some time I think. The only thing that this is not that good at is covering dark circles under the eyes. At least on me I sometimes manage to really do a good job with it and some other days it doesn't matter how hard I try it just doesn't work and I can not layer this too much or it will crease. As for the matt powder, it did the job pretty well, but of course it didn't last 10 hours. I must say on me it lasted about two hours, but with a bit of touch ups it worked well through out the day. Will repurchase after I finish up my stash. It has a nice matte velvety finish and looks really natural on me, like I have no powder on at all. Also includes a mirror in the packaging and I really love that!
So this is it for now, more empties will be coming soon :) Have you tried any of these? What are your thoughts?
Thanks for reading!

Alverde newbies!
Hello! It's been some time since my last post. But I was active anyway and I got myself some new products by Alverde, that just launched this autumn. Some countries got it a lot earlier than we did, but at least, they are finally here. :)
This is one of the four eyeshadow pallets. It's called 46 Fairy forest. This product is vegan :) I like the new package, because it is really small and fits in any make up bag so you can take it with you anywhere you want. Still, I would be careful since the plastic doesn't feel very strong to me. Previous boxes were really three times bigger and also stronger than this one. The colours some in four groups, the other three are natural brown collection, classic white to black and a berry collection with three pinkish colours and one greyish-black.
Fairy forest consist of one matte shade and three slightly shimmery ones. The lightest shade is matte, but the rest are not, the same goes for the other three pallets, always one matte and the rest with a little shimmer.
Here are the swatches, perhaps here the grey colour looks a bit too much purplish, it isn't at all in real. All three are nicely pigmented, I had no problem with blending, they have the usual Alverde scent to it, but nothing to disturb me. Here on the swatches, I didn't use any base, but on my make up I used Essence eyeshadow base for pigments and the look lasted for at least 3 hours, than it stated to show signs of slowly fading.
On to new products, here I have liquid eye shadow in 30 Metallic Aubergine and 4in1 concealer 10 natural.
The eye shadow is taking me some more time to apply, I always have problems with liquid eye shadows. It is a bit harder to spread it evenly on the eyelids and it takes more time to dry so you can add other colours. I only used this one and I waited for it to dry, than I applied Catrice mono eyeshadow in Plum up the Jam, also all over my lid to fix all the spots that were uneven. The look lasted all day, but at the end I did have some trouble because it got really dry, and even thou it didn't crease I had a feeling on my lids like it's gonna all fall down in flakes. This product comes in three shades, one is more silvery and the other one more bluish colour.
Concealer is for now in our stores in only one shade, I don't know if it will come in more shades. It is really light in colour, texture. It doesn't have any kind of smell, it applies even more easily than other Alverde concealers. This product is meant to have four functions - highlighter, concealer, base and eyeshadow in one. I can say I really like this product and it can perform all four different tasks. It has a slight tiny shimmer in it, so it is perfect for a highlighter, as concealer it is good, but rather average. It doesn't give a lot of coverage, but it evens out the colour nicely. I used it as a base and than applied some black matte eyeshadow over it and it looked great. I just don't know how long it would last, since I only had it on for about three hours. Once I used it solo and added just some eyeliner and it looked good, it evened out the natural colour of my eyelids, it looked like I had an eyeshadow on.
I am very satisfied with my newbies, the pallet is great, really lovely colours, I love the touch of green. True, I have enough of such products already but I can not help myself, I must at leats try them XD I still have hope liquid eyeshadows will become my thing, but I seem to still have trouble with them. But I love the colour and the fact it actually lasted for a whole day, with a little help ;) The 4in1 concealer is a great product, worth every penny! I am still waiting for the lip pencils, I would really love to try those, but they are not in stores yet...
What do you think? Have you already tried some of their new products?
Thanks for reading and have a nice week! :)

Summer favourite products :)
This summer I was using more make-up than usual for me, also I liked some other products for body and hair. Here's a short presentation and review of all my favourites :)
For hair I was using a lot Syoss Nutrition Oil Care shampoo, Balea serum for split ends, Alverde hair oil and Gliss Oil Nutritive spray. This combination really took good care of my hair, they don't split so much anymore, they nourish them and givem them a nice shine. You must be careful not to use too much of the shampoo at once, because than it will make your hair became even more greasy in a shorter time. Gliss and Balea I've been using for quite some time now and they are both a very good product for the price. Alverde hair oil was new thing I tried and loved :) You must be careful how much you put on, I usually put it on right after washing my hair. With wet hair you can easily apply too much, since it doesn't feel like you put on too much. I never tried applying it on dry hair, but if you have really super dry hair and damaged hair ends you can do that too, even if they are not freshly washed.
For body I was mostly using these three shower gels :) Two very fruity scents and one flower one - lotus flower :) Nice and refreshing, also made my skin feel very good. No irritations, no dry skin, just a nice care for a normal skin. :)
For body I used mostly these three, Fa body lotion Sensual Oil, has a really nice smell, it absorbs quickly, it doens't leave any grease on the skin or clothes. I used it a lot after shaving or any kind of depilation and it calmed my skin down and made it extra soft :) I discovered Dusch das through a friend and this has become one of my favourite deodorants ever. It smells very nice, very fresh, it actually doesn't leave any white stains on my clothes ( I have a lot of black t-shirts and dresses). Mostly they promise they don't but they still do. :S Plus it is so budget friendly, this cost about 1,50e I think. Very good product for a low price. :) Also Balea Mango hand creme! I bought it just because of the smell, it is gorgeous! It absorbs quickly, it also nourishes my hands really well, my nails seem better too :)
For face I love Dr.Scheller face wash gel pomegranate. It has nice texture, it is clear coloured, turns into a little bit like a foam. It is a very gentle cleanser suitable for all skin types. Plus it's natural cosmetics. :) It doesn't have any particular smell. Balea Creme peeling with Aloe Vera is also a very nice product for all skin types. It has a lot of small granulas, you don't need much of the product for one wash and the whole tube lasts quite a long time :) For make-up remover I'm using this one from Alverde with marigold extract. It removes nicely, it's very creamy. It smells very gently of marigold. I can not say if it removes waterproof make-up, because I don't use it.
Next, after preparing my skin I put on Garnier BB cream for oily skin in light. It has a very nice, light texture. It doesn't make me more pimples or block my pores, it is a nice shade, suitable for my skin. It gives a nice matte finish. For concealer I use Healthy Mix by Bourjois in shade 51. It is a really great concealer, covers really well and gives matte finish. On top of that I use Essence Fix &Matte translucent powder, to fix the whole foundation. All this gives a really nice, light feeling on the skin, like I have nothing on. A really big difference between this and a real foundation which can be a lot more heavier, but also gives more coverage. For summer this was quite enough, perhaps now in fall and winter I will switch back to a real liquid foundation.
For eye make-up, I used quite a lot of different products. Mostly I loved these ones! As for mascaras I loved L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes, it really makes the best out of my eyelashes. :) Than this summer I tried something less expensive, so I got myself Essence I love Extreme Volume mascara. It's not as good as Volume Million Lashes, but still makes a nice daily look. You can always build it up, but the texture is a bit more liquidy and it tends to clog my lashes together. No more than three coats or it gets too heavy and looks more like fat, straight lashes. Very unflattering...
Than for eyeshadows, this summer I was using a lot of daily, classical shades. I was really not summery at all, the only more summery colour was a peach one, but it did not come into the collection of my favourites. Here you can see at the mascaras, left up Essence, Marble Mania LE, 01 Seriousely Mixed Up, than below Essence 59 Copper Island, on the other side of mascaras I have Essence Colour&Shine, 11 Mercurious and ArtDeco 13 from Marrakesh Sunset LE. The Beauty Uk pallete in 4 Earth Child is so nice, very nicely pigmented, useful colours, small packaging so I always took her with me on my holidays or any other trip. A product I would really recommend to all. All the basic colours in one place, plus some green shades - to me this is a basic thing to have in your makeup bag. It has a little sponge applicator in it, but I was using my brushes to apply it. The Essence eyeshadows are all very nice too, long lasting, easy to apply and blend, give nice shimmery effect. As for the eyeliner, I loved these three by Revlon. They are named Antiqued Gold, Burnished Amber and Sueded Brown. They are really nicely pigmented, longlasting and easy to apply. The last one is a black one by Essence, Long lasting eye pencil in 01 Black forever. A really deep black colour, not greyish! It is longlasting and it's easy to apply, a really good black eyeliner.
My favourite nail polishes this summer were Deborah ShineTech in 50, Bourjois 1 seconde in number 8 and ArtDeco Ceramic Nail Lacquer in 412. I was going for a really classic colours this summer. Also because I finally discovered the shades of red I always wanted to have. :)
As for lips I was using so many products this was really the hardest thing to pick out. But I guess it is safe to say these were my summer favourites! First is a Revlon Matte lipstick in In The Red, second Catrice Lip Appeal in 100 Red-y, Steady, go!, than again Revlon Mineral lipglaze in 545 Stay Ablaze. Than two Alverde gloss lipsticks I got from this summers limited edition Nude&Flash, first one is 40 Smokey Rose and second one 60 Rich Coral.
Here are the swatches for all five of them. :) Again very classy colours I chose. Three more daily shades and two more pigmented and more suitable for a night out or dinner. :) Both Alverde ones give a bit more glossy finish, they have a nice smooth texture, the usual Alverde smell, like most of their products. They are very nice for daily use, for work and such. They leave a nice feeling on the lips and even when they dry they still leave a bit of colour on. They are not very long lasting, I had to reapply them a couple of times.
Catrice lip gloss gives a nice gentle colour to your lips, very useful for daily use, smooth application, doesn't smell of anythig in particular, but is not very long lasting.
Revlon have one of the most amazing lip products that are available in our drug stores! They are my total favourites for lip products. Both of these products are very nice to apply, they give a really nice finish. Both shades can be built up to look more full on. They are both very long lasting, they don't dry out my lips. Of course the pigmentation is super good! Lipglaze has a bit of a nice sugary smell, or at least that's how I would describe it. Unfortunately they are both discontinued and are no longer in stores, perhaps you can still catch some sales somewhere. Anyway I'm not too sad about it, because I'm sure that Revlon will launch even better shades and products and that we will want them even more than we want the old products. Like lip butters the whole make -up world is crazy about, they are not in Slovenia yet, but when they do come I hope we get all shades, because I already have a wishlist XD
(sorry for the bad photo, the natural daylight did not help much, so the photo is a bit unjust to the colours)
These were my favourite summer products :) I believe some of them will remain so also in fall and winter :) I hope this was useful to you and thanks for reading!

[Preview] ArtDeco - Dita von Teese Fall Favorites
ArtDeco already made a collection with Dita Von Teese, it was called Dita Von Teese Classics. This is a new one DVT Fall Favourites. I didn't know that she was going to make two collections with ArtDeco, and I'm glad I decided not to buy anything from previous one, since this one has some really gorgeous stuff too and the budget won't allow me to have it all. :)
There are six intense eyeshadow colours. They are available in : Sable 17, 26 Charmeuse, 27 Champagne, 150 Masquerade, 175 Sapphire, 185 Mystique.
Next is beauty trio box, very classy, as usual for AD products :)
False eyelashes are also in this collection, seems like she never gets enough of them. :) They look ok, but the Classics collection had prettier :)
Next is Ultra volume mascara, available only in black.
Eyebrow gel is available in three shades, 1 Crystal, 2 Mink and 5 Midnight.
Longlasting foundation is oil free, comes in three shades, 10, 35 and 40. This also has SPF 20 and is on my wishlist! ;)
In this collection there is also anti-aging concealer, available in 3 Beauty Sleep wall. Looks like you just have to twist it at the end to get the product out.
Next product I would like to try is Fixing loose powder.
One interesting product is also Illuminating baked powder, looks really pretty here :)
There are also two blushers :) Available in 25 She-Shamen and26 Orchidé.
And to my favourite part - lipsticks and lip lacquers :) Art Couture Velvet Lipstick is available in Manslayer 631, 634 Erotique, 650 Tryst, 656 Black Dahlia. Must check them out when they arrive, but for now my favourite is the last one, Black dahlia :) Lip Laquers are available in 29 Lovecraft and 37 Sexpert. Can't decide yet which one is best, I would love to have them both :)
Nail Lacquers are also very pretty and matching colours to the lips :) Available in 24 De Sade and 26 Vanitas.
Also you can get a Mini Lacquer in 05 Paper Moon.
I find this collection so very ...red, reddish, brownish.. really nice colurs :) The nail polishes and lip products are awesome, also the eyeshadows, but I will for now only add one thing to my wishlist, the foundation for sure, unless the shades won't suit me. Than of course a lip product goes with me, even thou I have enough of them already XD The green eyeshadow really stands out from the range, perhaps I end up deciding for it :)
