Review: Catrice - Color correcting mattifying powder

Hello! I got this powder to test and try at the Essence&Catrice event and I have been using it ever since. It's the Catrice Color correcting mattifying powder in shade 010 Delicate Blossom.

The packaging is simple and classic for Catrice and I really wish they did better ones as I seem to keep dropping these ( I had another Catrice mattifying powder, that's now waiting to be posted under Empties) on the floor.

This powder has different hues to correct uneven skin tone and at the same time mattify your face. Green is supposed to cancel out any redness you might have, pink is supposed to freshen-up tired complexion  and beige shades  are there to bring you the natural skin tone. The powder is really light and fine, it has a slight scent, but I like it I don't know how to describe it otherwise than tha of on old makeup.

It's easy to apply and blend, but at first I had noticed that it really doesn't want to come out of the pan and I thought I simply needed to get throught the first layer and get it really started. At first I didn't notice any changes to my foundation and whole look and thought it just a powder with matt effect and nothing more, now that it's really been used some more I can also say it does help me a bit with my skin tone, but you can still see redness or anything like that through, so this does not do any miracles by any chance, but it does help a bit. It also doesn't leave you looking too powdery, which is really important to me as I tend to look like I have way too much powder on top of my foundation and sometimes need to really go back in and blend and correct some more, and a big plus is that it leaves your skin feeling really soft. As for keeping me shine-free throughout the day it does a fairly good job, My nose- area and chin and forehead start to shine really fast and even here they did too, about after three hours. I find this pretty good, as I tend to get shiny really fast, but the real touch up was needed some time later, after around five hours of wear.

In general I should be liking this product, and I am, sort of. But it's just something...maybe because the first impression was that this is just another transparent powder with matt effect that didn't do any miracles but simply a good job? I don't know, but somehow I am not liking this as much as I want to and I still think the Bourjois Healthy Mix pressed powder is the best one I have tried so far from drugstore makeup... Anyway, this is still a pretty good budget buy and if you don't have really oily skin and need a really good powder that will also help you conceal well, this is actually a pretty good buy.

Hope this was helpful to you and thanks for reading!

Disappointing products #3: Deborah Milano - CC Cream 8in1 creamy correcting foundation

Hello again! Time to write about a product I didn't like, this time it was by Deborah Milano and it's theirs CC cream 8 in 1 creamy correcting foundation in shade 00, the lightest shade. Well, unfortunately this product really dissapointed me and here's why.

This product promises to do quite a lot of things but what it really does is well... nothing. The only thing that I did like was the scent, which some other reviewers said they disliked, but to me it was that classic cosmetic scent, hard to describe but it reminds me of some old perfume. It was not that pleasant, but it was pretty good.

Well, back to the promises - this products promises to prime, correct, moisturize, protect, nourish, to unify your skin tone and have antioxidant action ( contains Hyaluronic Acid).

The packaging is a bit different than with other similar products. It has a mirror inside and a little makeup sponge, a little separate space under the product for storing it. Which I find pretty good, but the product itself didn't work for me at all.

The texture of the product is interesting but hard to blend, it's hard but with some work creamy and than you need to work it in your skin quite fast. It's hard to apply it evenly and to build it up, because it's too solid and doesn't want to work with my sponge or my fingers.

The shade was the lightest possible because I hoped it would suit me but it didn't, it was a bit too light. The next one is 01 Fair, but that one seemed too yellow for me and I usually really do well yellow toned foundations, well this was not the case here.

The finish is a very natural look, once you manage to get any product out of the pan, with a very light coverage. And I mean very light! It doesn't do any of the promised things, this does not cover my pores at all, not even the smallest ones, does not cover the red zones on my face, does not cover any blemishes, if you have any other skin problems this will not work for you. So this is the part that dissapointed me the most, I really hoped this would at least cover some, but well... I could still use it as a primer, but it's way too much work to apply it every day and it doesn't go well when you apply another liquid foundation on top, because the lasting power is not good at all than  and I already have a better primer at home that's faster and easier to use.

I would recommend this product only to those with really smooth skin, almost none skin problems and no larger pores, plus to those with normal to dry skin, as I find this unfit for people with normal to greasy and greasy skin.

Hope this was helpful to you!

NOTD: Catrice - Luxury Lacquers Liquid Metal - SHINY - 08 Thunder From Down Under

Hello! A quick post today, showing you may NOTD :) I have been wearing this nail polish by Catrice lately and I think it's a very interesting shade, maybe not soo much festive and suitable for holidays to come in general, but I see this one as a perfect fit for a party night out or maybe even New Years Eve. The shade I am wearing is from the range Luxury Lacquers Liquid Metal and the name of the shade is really memorable and fun - 08 Thunder From Down Under.

I have gotten this beauty at Essence & Catrice blogger event, but I finally managed to actually take photos of it and write a little something. Why I like this nail polish?  Because  the colour is a dark black-ish shade and I really prefer to wear darker shades on my nails. It has nice sparkly effect, quite a lot of glitter, but it's not like a sand effect nail polish so it looks more muted and tuned down. It looks sexy and elegant on the nails and I find it perfect for anyone who wants to wear glittery nail polishes but at the same time not too shiny or pearly. Also it looks like a dark black nail polish with silver glitter in the bottle, but in real life I noticed it was sparkling more like golden shimmer...

I also like the formula, because it's a bit more thick than other Catrice nail polishes I have and is easy to use, I also took a photo of the brush so you can see the size and shape of it. I would love if it were more flat and thick but this one worked just fine. The pigmentation of this nail polish is really great, all I needed was one coat and I was done! I used nail base by Essence - Studio nails hardening nail base, one coat and than went over with the Catrice one. This lasted me three days without the need to do any touchups, except for two little spots where it chipped off but nothing biger. Also it has a very soft, glossy finish and I really like it, because I kinda got bored with the sand effect.

And some more photos for you :)

Review: Bourjois - Rouge Edition Velvet 08 Grand Cru

Hello! Time to do another review :) I have wanted to post about this one for some time now and I finally have some time to write a proper review for this beauty! I like matte finish on my skin, but usually I go for more of a semi-shiny finish on lips, especially since I have quite smaller lips, or at least that's what I think, and the shine gives them a bit of pop and volume. But the main reason I never chose matte shades is mostly because the shades that were available. Mostly they were too bright and too neon and I didn't like the swatches on my hands or my lips and well.. we don't have many brands in Slovenia that do drugstore makeup and matte lipsticks. So this is quite a hyped up product and as someone who loves Bourjois and loves most of their products I really had to give it a go! There is 8 shades available in total and I got my hand on the darkest one 08 Grand Cru.

What makes these different than any other drugstore product I have tried is texture. This does not feel like a cream at all, as someone might expect, but more like a mousse, therefore the application is really smooth. The applicator is small regular one, just like with any lipgloss or similar product.

The colour I have chosen is the darkest one available, shade 08 Grand Cru and it's a really perfect burgundy shade for fall/winter time. It could look a bit vampy if you wanted to creat that look, but didn't want to go even darker with your lips.

Pigmentation with this one is a bit funny. I have had some problems at first with this product as it didn't really do anything for me and it was so hard to get it on and stay put. I thought I have bought a bad product or maybe there was a trick to how to use it or something. The tester in the store was fine and than I get home and I see that this one is way different? Well, that's when I did finally go online and checked if anyone else reported any problems with this shade and well.. they did. I am used that my products are easy to use and especially easy to apply, but this one need more work as the pigmentation really looks just.. weird. You can see on my swatches that this one looks like the pigments have been glued together and that there is no way you can blend it in and break the molecules to work between them. So the swatch here is a lot more sheerer than the shade really is. On the lips I needed my fingers, my lip brush and more than three coats to finally make this work. It does leave a strong stain thou, so something is working here. The first coat looked very uneven and as I tried to blend it the pigment transfered to my fingers or brush or back to the applicator and I couldn't get it to look normal. So I kinda gave up and well after a couple of minutes tried again and well, it appears to be ebst if you apply one coat, let it dry and than apply another one on top of it. With some more blending I was able to make clear edges but than I already ruined the middle and needed to touch up, so that was already my third layer of the product. On the lips it feels like a feather, so it's amazing how much more complicated this is to apply and how natural, soft and easy it is to wear once it's applied.

Finish of this lip product is supposed to be matte, but at first it's still abit shiny and needs some time to really go matte. I like both finishes, a little bit shiny one and the completly matte one, but once it's properly matte, on me it took some time, I can not say exactly but I think the three coats needed about 20 minutes or so, it's a really perfect shade and looks amazing. If blended well it doesn't even look like you have anything on but more like it's the natural colour of your lips. I really loved that it looked a bit vampy and the impact it has on your whole face is amazing. If you are willing to put up with the work needed to make it even I really recommend it!

Staying power for this one is also very good, once it's on, even if you eat or drink it will not transfer or fade or anything. Well even this has it's limit. On me it lasted for about 5 hours but than I needed to do some serious touch ups. I must say I did eat and drink a lot in that time, as it was lunch time and than coffee break and than chocolate time and than some banana time...

Of course, as this is matte lip product it is a bit more drying, but not too much, at least not to me. Also it does require a good prep before application, meaning a scrub and well pampered lips. I however do not recommend waxy types of lip balms, such as Nuxe Reve de Miel as it creates a film on your lips and you can forget that you will work in that pigment any time soon.

On my swatches it looks more like a classic red and I have to apologize but I was unable to catch the real shade with my camera, in fact it's a lot darker than this. At the moment you can buy it for 9,99euros at DM stores :) Actually I have treated myself with another shade, as a part of my late birthday gift :P

Have you tried any of these? Did you like them?

Hope this was helpful to you and thanks for reading!

Ocena: P2 - Sand Style polish - 070 Pretty

Pozdravljeni!

Kakšni so vaši vtisi?

Še enkrat najlepša hvala MojiDrogeriji za sodelovanje in prijaznost :)

Ocena: P2 - Sand style polish - 080 Lovely :)

Pozdravljeni!

NEW in November :)

Hello! My newbies are here.. again the end of the month and time to prepare for the festive season of the year. Unfortunately I never get to celebrate much because I have to work and also have more work for my studies than last year.. I tried to keep it minimum in November because I expect that I will buy some more goodies in  December, mostly because they have such great offers and discounts, and who could miss them? :P

Let's start with a list and than some more info:
- Nivea 3 in 1 micellar cleansing water 200 ml
- Oriflame Sweden True perfection miracle perfecting serum 30ml
- P2 Sand style polish in shade 070 Pretty and 080 Lovely
- Essence Studio nails hardening nail base
- Essence frame4fame lash glue
- Essence  eye blender brush
- Essence say NO to dark circles 30 bright rose
- Bourjois BB cream  8 in 1 shade 21 vanilla
- Ecotools bamboo blush brush
- Oriflame Sweden Professional Make-Up sponge
- Labello Soft Rose, Vitamin Shake and Lip Butter Original
- Make up Revolution London Salvation velvet lacquer in shade Keep lying for you
- Essence Come to town LE lipstick 02 Wrapped in pink
- Oriflame Sweden The ONE Power Shine lipstick in Trendy Berry
- Oriflame Sweden Giordani Gold Iconic lipstick in Satin Beige

Let's start with some face products :) I bought new  Nivea micellar solution, even thou I still have one from Kozmetika Afrodita to try, but I really wanted to give it a go with this one too, plus I had 50% discount at DM store, so I decided it's worth the try and the purchase. The item next to it is by Oriflame Sweden  which I have received to test from Oriflame Slovenija.  I really liked it so far, it's very light, makes my skin feel very gentle and soft and has some pearl to it, so it gives some dewy finish and it's a good base for foundation. Plus it's very gently scented and I really like it. :)

Some more products for nails :) I got these two by P2 from Mojadrogerija.si to test and I chose shades Pretty and Lovely and both are very suitable for the wintery- festive season :) Also I have quite some problems with my nails so I wanted to try some products to help me heal my nails and started with Essence studio nails hardening nail base, which I have been using as a base and also just by itself, with no other nail polish on top of it. So far it seems to help me a bit. :)

And some more products for eyes and again, from Essence. I bought their new brush, called eye blender brush as I seem to have just regular eyeshadow brushes but nothing to help me blend well and this one seems ok for now, so far I am satisfied, I only wish this brush was a bit more dense and thick. Also wanted to try out this lash glue by Essence as I still have some old Catrice separate false lashes I never wear, but the glue that was included is really old now and didn't work for me in the first place. So this is something I have yet to try.

For face I bought another Essence product, Say NO to dark circles under eye concealer and I really hoped this will help me with my dark colouring under my eyes. And well it did some, but it didn't do such a great job I could  say this is worth the purchase. Also got this Bourjois BB cream on 50% sale at DM store and I must say I was really surprised this is quite covering and the shade is perfect for me too, just like the rest of my Bourjois foundations. So far I really like this and love to use it. From Oriflame Sweden I bought this professional makeup sponge and it's really soft and helps me with excess foundation, so that I have smooth skin and not patches where foundation stayed on the surface. It's quite a gentle little helper. Plus I traded something of mine for this new EcoTools blush brush, but I haven't used it yet. I only tried how dense and soft it is and I am really excited to start using it :) But I think I will end up using it for powder more than for blush, as it looks big enough.

And now the part where I buy way too many products for lips :) I have used 30% discount at DM store for Labello lip balms and have bought Lip butter original, Soft Rose and Vitamin shake. I have already had at numerous occasions the last two and I keep repurchasing, especially the Soft Rose one, as it actually also helps my lips, nourishes them well and makes them really soft. The new addition is my fourth lip butter, so when I saw this one at the store, I simply couldn't say no. The only one that I currently don't have is Raspberry, but I didn't like the scent of that one and I don't think I will be buying that one.

As for lipsticks and lipglosses I have treated myself with some Makeup Revolution London Salvation velvetlacquer in shade Keep lying for you and I must say, this is an amazing shade and I really love wearing it! Somewhat similar but more pinky and less purply is this new shade by Essence, from their limited edition Come to town in shade 02 Wrapped in pink. Not such a me colour but when I saw it in stores I really couldn't resist :P Plus I bought two new lippies from Oriflame Sweden. One is by Giordani Gold Iconic lipstick and it's in shade Satin Beige. Such a gentle shade and gives such lovely finish I would want to wear this anywhere really. Whether it's a party or dinner for two or just work.. I can't wait to buy another lipstick from the Giordani Gold range. The last one is by The ONE Power shine lipstick and it's in shade Trendy berry. This is my second lipstick from this range and I really thought this could be very suitable for the festive season ahead as it's slightly red but shimmery and so perfect for parties :)

Have you tried any of these? Which ones did you like best?
