Review & Swatches: MUA - Lip boom LMK

Hello everyone! Another review and swatches from UniqaPoly :) So today I'll write about a lipstick I got some time ago and I have already mentioned it in this post - NEW in May :) So this is actually a double product by MUA, called Lip Boom. On one side you have lipstick and on the other it's a glittery gloss.

I kinda had to try this after seeing it in one of Lisa Eldridge video tutorials, I really loved how the shade looked on her!

Well, actually I got this one second hand and maybe that also contributed to my final opinion about this product... maybe this is one of those rare times when I get something from someone else and it turns out not to be a good product... So I said it - it's not a good product and I'm not satisfied with this one. Which is actually also very rare - I actually kinda like or really love all the lip products I have :)

So you get 2,5g of lipstick and 3,5 ml of lip gloss. I like the idea that both product are in one, it's a good idea for taking it with you on the go. That is if the colours are a good match. Here I find the colours to be ok, but I would prefer a different gloss to go with this lippie.

What does this product promise? It promises to create fuller curvaceous lips and illusion of volume. There are 4 different ways you can use this - first is just lipstick for a matte look. Second you can apply the glossy highlighetr just one the center of your lips to create a full volume illusion. Third you can add gloss all over your lipstick for a super glossy look. Or you can use highlighter alone for a sheer pearl finish.

So what did I really get? Lipstick has been cut off and that part was used in a lipstick palette, but the rest was never used and I actually got unused product. The colour is amazing deep plummy burgundy. I love the colour of the lipstick. The gloss is not one of my favourites. I love glittery and shiny stuff, but this one simply has too big glittery parts and you can feel them on the lips, almost like a lip scrub... Simply a turn off for me. Still, it looks really good on the lips, if you can ignore the feeling.
I scrubbed my lips really well and applied lipstick straight from the bullet... and it looked chappy.. as you can see below on the swatches - on some parts there was this really dark colour and little bumps. I don't know why, because my lips were really smoothe - so it must have been the consistency of the lipstick. Also, it's a matte lipstick and I never had bad experiences with matte lipsticks but this one dries my lips in a matter of half an hour. With gloss on top or not  - in less than an hour my lips look terrible. Which is really unfortunate because the colour is amazing! And it's really pigmented, it leaves a lovely stain after it starts to fade and it still looks good. With gloss on top all over the lips it looks best, so I posted these two swatches. the rest I didn't like and the photos weren't good  so I posted only these two.

I don't know if it's only my lipstick like this, because I read that some shades from this Lip Boom range are really great, but this one is not that good at all. I can still find ways to use it, but this is really a product that I kinda avoid using.. It just takes so much more time to make an application that looks even half good... and I have so many lipsticks that are way better than this one...  It's not an expensive product so you can try it anyway, maybe some other shade.. or maybe just mine was a little weird and you will have the same shade and it will look perfect?.. I don't know, but maybe it will work for you :)

Thanks for reading and hope this was helpful to you!

Review: Garnier - Moisture Match - 24H Hydration Mattifying Fresh Cream

Hello! How is everyone? This post is about my new face cream I got in June and I already mentioned it here -  NEW in June :) So check the link and you can see some more stuff that I'll be reviewing in the new future :)

I got this face cream in DM store, I used the 2e bonus discount that you get at the counter, so instead of paying something around 6 to 7 euros, I paid something between 4 and 5 euros. So as for the price - this is not a very expensive product, but it will be to those who will not find this product good and useful.

Packaging - it comes in a little box and than in a classic plastic tube, with a plastic cap. XD Personally I prefer this kind of packaging because I can get out as much of the product I want without sticking my fingers in the whole pot! Still, don't squize too hard :P You get  50 ml of the product.

What the product promises? It says it is suitable for combination to oily skin, it promises to be mattifying. Also it promises to be fast absorbing and oil free, also suitable for sensitive skin. Contains green tea extract and vegetal elixir. Promises to be moisturizing and refreshing.

So the consistency of the cream is somewhere between liquidy and compact. To me it appears to be a good texture that is easy to apply and can be easily and evenly spread. You don't need much of the product for one use, so this should last some time, at least a month or two if you don't use any other creams. I really need just two tiny drops and it's enough for my face and neck.
It is slightly scented, has a similar scent as another Garnier cream I used when I was still a teen.. can't recall the name or if it's still available, but it was so similar to this one. Consistency, slight perfumed scent, texture, feeling on the hands and face. But that one had cucumber extract. So this scent reminds me of that of the cucumber cream. It is also of similar colour, very slightly green, but when applied you don't look white or green, so don't worry XD

And also a photo of the ingredients: I am no expert, but at least I know it's not good if alcohol is like on top of the list! Still I bought it, even though I noticed this fact - I wanted to give it a try. To see how my skin will react now, if maybe this will be a good product for me or not.

So how does it really do on me? I like the smell and the texture. I like that it feels smooth on my fingers and when applied. It does try to be mattifying but on me - but it's always a little dewy looking. I have oily skin almost all over my face, especially in summer. In winter I tend to be more combinated. When applied my face instantly feels refreshed, but never looks really mattified. Also after applied  and even thou I use just a tiny bit of the product I feel the product on my face - it just stays there as a light film. Which does not bother me mostly - because I use this only before I go to sleep or when I know I'll be home all day. Otherwise this is not a cream that would be compatible with a BB cream on top or any other foundation - at least not for me. As for moisturizing - it's ok, but nothing out of the ordinary. I have not noticed that my skin would feel more moisturized, more nourished. I can imagine that most other users of this product want this cream to be light and fast absorbing and a good base for a foundation - and maybe it  can be - but not for those who have oily skin. Because this cream simply does not mattify enough and does not absorb as well to be good as  a base. It does make my skin feel really smooth, it doesn't cause me any irritations or any outbreaks of pimples. Still an overall for this cream - an OK product, but it could be a lot better and it doesn't really fulfill all the promises.

Would I recommend it? Maybe, but only to those with normal to combination skin, because this will never really look mattifying on anyone with oily skin. Anyway if you want to try than go ahead, if you have mainly good experiences with Garnier face creams, than maybe this will work for you too. :) Personally I still like the cream, even thou the biggest promise this product gives (that it will mattify and absorb well) does not work for me as well as expected. I have a feeling that if it were autumn and winter my skin and this cream would work together a lot better, but in summer time it's really a hell to find a good moisturizing cream that doesn't leave a film and doesn't leave you looking shiny :)

I hope this was helpful to you and have a great Sunday! Thank you for reading!

Preview: Catrice - L'Afrique C'est Chic LE

Hello again! Another preview and another post from UniqaPoly :) This time Catrice is presenting new limited edition for late summer - early autumn months, called L'Afrique C'est Chic :)

Catrice team says: "African appeal: colourful, traditional, exotic. Designers are discovering the new AFROdisiac – a journey into the African fashion culture. Folkloristic and colourful with bold influences of the next generation. The diversity of patterns is the central element. Tribal, Zulu and animal prints are all the rage in this summer’s collections and great designers are using them in flowing, elegant caftans as well as for feminine business looks. The designs by international fashion icons are as diverse as the contrasting landscapes of this beautiful continent. With an opulent palette of colours ranging from papaya to cinnabar to the iridescent blue of the ocean, the Limited Edition “L’Afrique, c’est chic” by CATRICE will be making a great impression this August and September 2013. Liquid metal eyeshadows with strong metallic effects, soft lip balms, a premium blush brush made of dense fine bristles as well as many other fabulous products translate the African trend into the language of beauty. Dreaming of Africa – by Catrice."

Liquid Metal Eyeshadow  - The soft powder eyeshadow with a decorative 3D relief structure can be applied moist or dry to ensure unique chrome effects and intensive colour results. Four shades including two warm earth tones and two bright colours can be mixed and matched as you please and are easy to blend. Available in C01 So Classy, C02 All real Gold, C03 Quel bleu turquoise and C04 Green Fashion.

Giant Kajal - This extra-broad Giant Kajal creates smokey eyes quickly and reliably. The creamy black texture is particularly easy to apply on your lids. By smudging it with your fingertips, you can achieve a trendy smudge effect for a super dramatic version of the smokey eyes look. Thanks to its compact pen-shape, the kajal is easy to hold. Available in C01 Black’s Beautiful.

Lip balm -  The lip balm with a gorgeous print design is a true all-rounder. It unites the soft, pampering characteristics of a balm with the subtle colour and shine of a lipstick for lips in perfection! Available in two shades, C01 Rouge, Bien Sûr – rusty red and C02 Extravagant – reddish brown.

Blush Bronze - This dual-talent consisting of a fine blush and a bronzing powder with perfectly aligned colours creates a naturally tanned look and a fresh complexion. A cool rosé offers ideal, harmonious colour results for blondes while a yellowish coral gives brunettes a touch of the African evening sun on their cheeks. Available in two shades, C01 Fresh demand and C02 Oh, Là, Là.

Blush Brush - The premium rouge brush with a transparent handle and an inset pattern is a special highlight of this Limited Edition. It doesn’t just look gorgeous, its fine, dense bristles ensure that the colour pigments in the blush can be applied smoothly and professionally with perfect results. The Blush Brush is the ideal counterpart to the Blush & Bronze.

Ultimate Nail Lacquer - The colour diversity of traditional African patterns combined with an unusual texture reminiscent of the rough surfaces of a steppe landscape. The results: five limited shades including earthy brown, bright turquoise, sunny yellow, cinnabar and orange with a rough, sandy finish. Available in C01 So Classy, C02 Quel bleu turquoise, C03 Sunny Side, C04 Rouge, Bien Sûr and C05 L‘Orange.

My opinion - very pretty limited edition! I am mostly interested in the lipsticks, I think the shades will be perfect for neutral and yellow toned girls, so probably both of them will be more suitable for those with warm skin tones. Or those with a tan ;) Also the eyeshadows look really gorgeous! Shiny, and smooth  - I can already imagine what the texture will feel like. I just can not decide on the shade - all four look great! Also the blush brush looks really promising :) I already have a powder and kabuki brush from Catrice and I really like both of them, so that makes me think this one could be really good too :) Also the browny nail polish looks interesting, will see how it turns out in real life :) I expect this will actually be available in September here in Slovenia, so by then there will be a lot swatches on german beauty blogs to help me decide :) What about you, anyone likes this collection?

Thanks for reading!

NEW in June :)

Hello again! A new post from UniqaPoly and a new month :) Today I'll present you the new stuff I bought and got as a gift in June :) There are quite a lot of items here plus some that I got as a gift  from slovenian makeup forum Ars Cosmetica in collaboration with Revlon :) !!!! Yeey, me so happy! Thank you again so much!
Techically the Revlon package arrived today, but I included it it new stuff from June :) Quite a lot of new lippies - again! XD And some other products that I use more on a daily basis :)

So here's the list of my new things :)
- Rimmel London Apocalis Lip Lacquer in 401 Aurora
- Maybelline New York ColorSensational Shine Gloss in two shades 360 Stellar Berry and 610 Naked Star
- Alverde Lust auf Meer LE, lipstick in 30 Leucht turm
- Alverde Lust auf Meer LE, eyeliner in 10 Schilfgrun
- Garnier Moisture Match, 24h mattifying fresh face cream for mix to oily skin
- Balea Sonnen Schutz spray, hair spray with UV for hair protection
- Crystal Essence Mineral deodorant and body spray, Lavender & White tea
- Essence Ticket to paradise LE, eyeshadow in 03 Tropical heat
- Labello Sun Protect lip balm with SPF 30
- Ebelin nail polish remover
- Ebelin sponge for face peeling/massage

And on the second photo, my fantastic Revlon package! I got:
- Nearly Naked makeup in shade 130 Shell, SPF 20
- Colorstay concealer in shade 02 Light
- Nail enemel in shade 620 Bewitching
- ColorStay Ultimate Suede lipstick in shade 035 Backstage

And some more photos of my new trophies :)

I got these two with a discount bonus 50% off and there was no real colour choice. The berry shade looked yummy ... but the rest were too pinky, pearly something, so I took this golden shiny one. It will fit with a lot of looks, even thou I already have a gloss or two in a similar shade.

I got this one when I went to Pilsen, Czech republic on a festival, at the beginning of June. We don't have Rimmel in Slovenia, so this is actually my first product from this brand.  I didn't really know what to get, people say their powders are really good - but I couldn't resist thic gorgeous colour! I really hope it will photo friendly and I'll be able to get some nice swatches for you :)

Another creamy like eyeshadow! I know, they just don't work for me - but this one is a bit different :) I'll write a more proper review about this gorgeous golden shade. When I was writting about the preview of this trend edition I said, I am interested in the blue lip gloss -hmm.. nothing special, so I went home with only this eyeshadow.

Finally Lust auf Meer LE arrived to Slovenia and I actually got to be the first to check out the new stand and the new products! I liked best this orangy-red lipstick and a greenish-golden eyeliner :)

In search for a moisturizing and light face cream I decided to give it a try with Garnier's new line of face creams, Moisture Match. There are four different creams, for four main skin types. This one has so far been ok, but more in a proper review :)

For hair I got this Balea spray that is supposed to prevent any damage to hair because of sun. I don't know if this will fork for me, or if it's just gonna end up to be a conditioner for hair.. will see how greasy this is on the hair. Ebelin nail polish remover has been a product I have repurchased soo many times, but I included it in this post anyway. Also new is this mineral deodorant Crystal Essence, I plan to write also why I chose a mineral one instead of the usual deodorants and antiperspirants.. why minerl deodorants are better for you :) Last two items are another Ebelin product, this time it's a peeling and massage plastic sponge and Labello Sun protect lip balm with SPF 30. :) I'm gonna join this lip balm with Alverde one from my post NEW in May, and I still owe you some review. So I'll make a post about these two and compare them :)

So.. have you already tried any of the products that are new to me? Do you like them? As you can see I will have a lot of work writing reviews and taking swatches for May and June.. I still have a lot of other cosmetics that I want to talk about ... it will be quite a month, quite a summer :) I hope I'll manage to write as much as possible :) Let me know which products are you most interested in :) I'll do my best to write about them as soon as possible. :) Also I will post comments and photos about the Revlon products  here on this  forum - Ars Cosmetica :)

Thank you for reading and have a great week! :)
