Review: Bourjois - Rouge Edition Velvet 08 Grand Cru

Hello! Time to do another review :) I have wanted to post about this one for some time now and I finally have some time to write a proper review for this beauty! I like matte finish on my skin, but usually I go for more of a semi-shiny finish on lips, especially since I have quite smaller lips, or at least that's what I think, and the shine gives them a bit of pop and volume. But the main reason I never chose matte shades is mostly because the shades that were available. Mostly they were too bright and too neon and I didn't like the swatches on my hands or my lips and well.. we don't have many brands in Slovenia that do drugstore makeup and matte lipsticks. So this is quite a hyped up product and as someone who loves Bourjois and loves most of their products I really had to give it a go! There is 8 shades available in total and I got my hand on the darkest one 08 Grand Cru.

What makes these different than any other drugstore product I have tried is texture. This does not feel like a cream at all, as someone might expect, but more like a mousse, therefore the application is really smooth. The applicator is small regular one, just like with any lipgloss or similar product.

The colour I have chosen is the darkest one available, shade 08 Grand Cru and it's a really perfect burgundy shade for fall/winter time. It could look a bit vampy if you wanted to creat that look, but didn't want to go even darker with your lips.

Pigmentation with this one is a bit funny. I have had some problems at first with this product as it didn't really do anything for me and it was so hard to get it on and stay put. I thought I have bought a bad product or maybe there was a trick to how to use it or something. The tester in the store was fine and than I get home and I see that this one is way different? Well, that's when I did finally go online and checked if anyone else reported any problems with this shade and well.. they did. I am used that my products are easy to use and especially easy to apply, but this one need more work as the pigmentation really looks just.. weird. You can see on my swatches that this one looks like the pigments have been glued together and that there is no way you can blend it in and break the molecules to work between them. So the swatch here is a lot more sheerer than the shade really is. On the lips I needed my fingers, my lip brush and more than three coats to finally make this work. It does leave a strong stain thou, so something is working here. The first coat looked very uneven and as I tried to blend it the pigment transfered to my fingers or brush or back to the applicator and I couldn't get it to look normal. So I kinda gave up and well after a couple of minutes tried again and well, it appears to be ebst if you apply one coat, let it dry and than apply another one on top of it. With some more blending I was able to make clear edges but than I already ruined the middle and needed to touch up, so that was already my third layer of the product. On the lips it feels like a feather, so it's amazing how much more complicated this is to apply and how natural, soft and easy it is to wear once it's applied.

Finish of this lip product is supposed to be matte, but at first it's still abit shiny and needs some time to really go matte. I like both finishes, a little bit shiny one and the completly matte one, but once it's properly matte, on me it took some time, I can not say exactly but I think the three coats needed about 20 minutes or so, it's a really perfect shade and looks amazing. If blended well it doesn't even look like you have anything on but more like it's the natural colour of your lips. I really loved that it looked a bit vampy and the impact it has on your whole face is amazing. If you are willing to put up with the work needed to make it even I really recommend it!

Staying power for this one is also very good, once it's on, even if you eat or drink it will not transfer or fade or anything. Well even this has it's limit. On me it lasted for about 5 hours but than I needed to do some serious touch ups. I must say I did eat and drink a lot in that time, as it was lunch time and than coffee break and than chocolate time and than some banana time...

Of course, as this is matte lip product it is a bit more drying, but not too much, at least not to me. Also it does require a good prep before application, meaning a scrub and well pampered lips. I however do not recommend waxy types of lip balms, such as Nuxe Reve de Miel as it creates a film on your lips and you can forget that you will work in that pigment any time soon.

On my swatches it looks more like a classic red and I have to apologize but I was unable to catch the real shade with my camera, in fact it's a lot darker than this. At the moment you can buy it for 9,99euros at DM stores :) Actually I have treated myself with another shade, as a part of my late birthday gift :P

Have you tried any of these? Did you like them?

Hope this was helpful to you and thanks for reading!

Ocena: P2 - Sand Style polish - 070 Pretty

Pozdravljeni!

Kakšni so vaši vtisi?

Še enkrat najlepša hvala MojiDrogeriji za sodelovanje in prijaznost :)

Ocena: P2 - Sand style polish - 080 Lovely :)

Pozdravljeni!

NEW in November :)

Hello! My newbies are here.. again the end of the month and time to prepare for the festive season of the year. Unfortunately I never get to celebrate much because I have to work and also have more work for my studies than last year.. I tried to keep it minimum in November because I expect that I will buy some more goodies in  December, mostly because they have such great offers and discounts, and who could miss them? :P

Let's start with a list and than some more info:
- Nivea 3 in 1 micellar cleansing water 200 ml
- Oriflame Sweden True perfection miracle perfecting serum 30ml
- P2 Sand style polish in shade 070 Pretty and 080 Lovely
- Essence Studio nails hardening nail base
- Essence frame4fame lash glue
- Essence  eye blender brush
- Essence say NO to dark circles 30 bright rose
- Bourjois BB cream  8 in 1 shade 21 vanilla
- Ecotools bamboo blush brush
- Oriflame Sweden Professional Make-Up sponge
- Labello Soft Rose, Vitamin Shake and Lip Butter Original
- Make up Revolution London Salvation velvet lacquer in shade Keep lying for you
- Essence Come to town LE lipstick 02 Wrapped in pink
- Oriflame Sweden The ONE Power Shine lipstick in Trendy Berry
- Oriflame Sweden Giordani Gold Iconic lipstick in Satin Beige

Let's start with some face products :) I bought new  Nivea micellar solution, even thou I still have one from Kozmetika Afrodita to try, but I really wanted to give it a go with this one too, plus I had 50% discount at DM store, so I decided it's worth the try and the purchase. The item next to it is by Oriflame Sweden  which I have received to test from Oriflame Slovenija.  I really liked it so far, it's very light, makes my skin feel very gentle and soft and has some pearl to it, so it gives some dewy finish and it's a good base for foundation. Plus it's very gently scented and I really like it. :)

Some more products for nails :) I got these two by P2 from Mojadrogerija.si to test and I chose shades Pretty and Lovely and both are very suitable for the wintery- festive season :) Also I have quite some problems with my nails so I wanted to try some products to help me heal my nails and started with Essence studio nails hardening nail base, which I have been using as a base and also just by itself, with no other nail polish on top of it. So far it seems to help me a bit. :)

And some more products for eyes and again, from Essence. I bought their new brush, called eye blender brush as I seem to have just regular eyeshadow brushes but nothing to help me blend well and this one seems ok for now, so far I am satisfied, I only wish this brush was a bit more dense and thick. Also wanted to try out this lash glue by Essence as I still have some old Catrice separate false lashes I never wear, but the glue that was included is really old now and didn't work for me in the first place. So this is something I have yet to try.

For face I bought another Essence product, Say NO to dark circles under eye concealer and I really hoped this will help me with my dark colouring under my eyes. And well it did some, but it didn't do such a great job I could  say this is worth the purchase. Also got this Bourjois BB cream on 50% sale at DM store and I must say I was really surprised this is quite covering and the shade is perfect for me too, just like the rest of my Bourjois foundations. So far I really like this and love to use it. From Oriflame Sweden I bought this professional makeup sponge and it's really soft and helps me with excess foundation, so that I have smooth skin and not patches where foundation stayed on the surface. It's quite a gentle little helper. Plus I traded something of mine for this new EcoTools blush brush, but I haven't used it yet. I only tried how dense and soft it is and I am really excited to start using it :) But I think I will end up using it for powder more than for blush, as it looks big enough.

And now the part where I buy way too many products for lips :) I have used 30% discount at DM store for Labello lip balms and have bought Lip butter original, Soft Rose and Vitamin shake. I have already had at numerous occasions the last two and I keep repurchasing, especially the Soft Rose one, as it actually also helps my lips, nourishes them well and makes them really soft. The new addition is my fourth lip butter, so when I saw this one at the store, I simply couldn't say no. The only one that I currently don't have is Raspberry, but I didn't like the scent of that one and I don't think I will be buying that one.

As for lipsticks and lipglosses I have treated myself with some Makeup Revolution London Salvation velvetlacquer in shade Keep lying for you and I must say, this is an amazing shade and I really love wearing it! Somewhat similar but more pinky and less purply is this new shade by Essence, from their limited edition Come to town in shade 02 Wrapped in pink. Not such a me colour but when I saw it in stores I really couldn't resist :P Plus I bought two new lippies from Oriflame Sweden. One is by Giordani Gold Iconic lipstick and it's in shade Satin Beige. Such a gentle shade and gives such lovely finish I would want to wear this anywhere really. Whether it's a party or dinner for two or just work.. I can't wait to buy another lipstick from the Giordani Gold range. The last one is by The ONE Power shine lipstick and it's in shade Trendy berry. This is my second lipstick from this range and I really thought this could be very suitable for the festive season ahead as it's slightly red but shimmery and so perfect for parties :)

Have you tried any of these? Which ones did you like best?

Review: Essence Pure Skin toner & powder

Hello! Time to write a couple of words about this face toner by Essence, called Pure Skin anti-spot toner&powder. I was really intersted in this product because I was searching for a cheap version of toner, because I really use it fast and I saw this was a toner and a powder in one product. The powder in it was supposed to absorb oil on your face. This sounded like a good thing because I have mixed to oily skin and most toners tend to leave a tacky film on my skin.

My experiences with this toner were, well, average. It  gives a big plus to it that it's cheap, you get 200 ml of product for about 2,59 euros, if my memory serves me right. It's a classic bottle, just plastic bottle with a cap screw. I use toner twice a day, so morning and evening and for me a bottle goes fast, about a month and a bit and that's it. I really soak the cotton pad and apply all over my face and neck and I use toners as a way to make sure I have washed off all my makeup plus to give my skin some moisturization before the face cream. The ingredients on the back claim this product has salicylic acid  which is mostly good for combination/oily skin as it is supposed to unclog pores and inhibit pimples and blemishes. It also contains allantoin  which is a natural chemical compound that sooths the skin and increases the smoothness of the skin.

The product has mild scent, fresh scent but not disturbing. It gives a slight cooling sensation  whan applying but it feels fresh and nice. It absorbs very fast after application and helps keep your face matte. Also it leaves your skin feeling soft and powdery, because of the ingredient added to make you look more matte after it dries. It doesn't leave any tacky film on your skin. It did not dry my skin or cause me any irritations, but the promise of having a little helper to keep my face matte was not completely true. It did keep my face matte for a moment, but after 10 minutes I was shiny again. Maybe I used too little or too much, but this effect doesn't last long. Overall it's decent product worth trying out or buying if you are on a budget and need something that is not too expensive. I think I will not repurchase any time soon as I have other products I want to try. Plus it contains alcohol which is bad for the skin if you want to have a toner for everyday use. And as for the promise to help against my pimples and spots, well I must say I haven't noticed any differences there while using this product. So maybe it helped some people but on me I haven't noticed any differences.

Some more photos of the product and ingredients:)

Did you try this product? What did you think?

Hope this was helpful to you! Thanks for reading!

Review: Balea Face wash foam - Zarter Reinigungs schaum

Hello!  Another short review, this time it's a face product by Balea, face wash foam or Zarter Reinigungs schaum. Sorry, I don't know German so I kinda translate by sense. This is a very cheap product available at DM stores for only 1,99 euros. I have tested this and already used up a bottle and maybe  I will also repurchase. I liked this face foam because it was so easy to use and your face was clean very fast and easy.

The packaging is simple bottle with a pump, contains 150 ml of product. It is scented with lotus flower and it does smell nice but to me a bit too intense. It is suitable for normal to mixed skin, I have mixed to greasy skin but it did the job well anyway. I was using this one mostly in the mornings as it feels very light and very refreshing but also in the evening. I usually used micellar solution first than went over with this foam to make sure I really removed all my makeup and to also introduce some water to my face, because that's what your skin really needs. Also the scent of the product lingers on your skin for a while, but I usually go over with my toner and than  the scents mix.

This product doesn't cause me any irritations or any more skin problems, it also doesn't leave my skin feeling dry but just really soft.  I would really recommend this to anyone who like to use foam washes for face and doesn't have very dry skin or any such skin problems. Plus to anyone who is looking for a budget buy. I think I really will get a bottle of this one soon as it simply feels nice to use it and have it at hand at all times.

Here you can check some more photos of what they promise this product does and ingredients :)

Did you try this product? What do you think? Have you tried any similar products that you would recommend?

Hope this was helpful to you and thanks for reading!

Empty products of the week 5 :)

Hello! More empties for you, as promised. :)  Another bunch of empties, I am finally going to catch up with my latest ones.  :)

Starting with some products for my face :) First I used up this face toner by Essence Pureskin  named anti-spot toner&powder. I bought this because I really didn't want to spend a lot of money for a toner but wanted something that would have some effect on my skin or at leats help me keep it clean and with less pimples and such. Well, this really didn't do much for me. I never got that powder effect, because I really never noticed anything different from any other toner I had. This was just an ok product, nothing special and I am not planning on repurchasing. The only thing that it maybe did help was prevent new breakouts, but since I use different products to go with my daily routine in evening and morning time I can not say if it did really help me keep my skin spotless or was that some other product. In the middle we have eye make up remover by Inell, actually called Lait Demaquillant Douceur, I have been repurchasing this for some time now. Actually I have decided to stop repurchasing the smaller version and the last time got the big bottle and I use it almost every day. So far so good and my skin doesn't have any kind of reaction, so I will probably keep repurchasing. Last one on this photo is Balea Zarter Reinigungs Schaum, basically a cleansing foam for face. This is also a pretty decent product, also very cheap and does the job well. I loved to use it in the evenings  as my last step, to make sure all my makeup was removed and also really loved to use it in the morning as it refreshed my face very well. I would repurchase this..  if I will ever run out of my stash of cleansers. :P

Than my hair shampoo by Kozmetika Afrodita, called Kopriva  or nettle. I really like this shampoo, I always have it at home and I have been using it for a long time, since I was a kid actually. What Can I say, it's a classic and keeps my hair strong and clean and really gets to the roots and washes away everything plus it doesn't cause me any problems, irritations or  making my hair grease faster. I keep 1000 ml bottle at home at all times and I repurchase it at DM store, for under 4 euros. Next is Palmolive shower gel Irresisitible Softness with the scent of orchids and aloe vera. You may have noticed I use a lot of Palmolive shower gels, mostly because they are pretty good for the price, they often have discounts, the scents are pretty good to and well it's an everyday product and I usually don't spend much on shower gels. I don't think I will be repurchasing this particular scent as it didn't appeal to me as much.

And some more shower gels... I use these products faster than anything else, plus I did save up my empties for some time now.. Here we have again by Palmolive shower gel Ayurituel peaceful with indian neem and jasmine, plus Aroma therapy absolute relax bath foam, that I have been using more like a shower gel, with ylang ylanf and iris extract. I really loved these two, maybe I will repurchase this Ayurituel peaceful, but I have been repurchasing the Absolute relax for years now and will repurchase again. It is one of my favourite shower gels ever!

And some makeup empties. This time I was checking my products for eyes and eyebrows and some really didn't work for me anymore so I decided it's time to throw the out. I really loved Essence Guerilla gardening LE eyebrow mascara and have been using it almost every day. Since this was a limited edition I can't repurchase, but I did get myself a similar product by Catrice, which should be available at the moment at every Catrice stand, This was my first eyebrow product and I must say it was really easy to use, nice effect, not too overdone and looking really natural, plus very fast to use, one swipe and I was ready to go. Than I have here by Essence Stays no matter what waterproof eyeliner pen, but I must say this never really worked for me.. The first couple of uses it was ok and really dark and a bit hard to remove, but than I guess it soaked up too much of my eyeshadows or something because it got grey really fast and I doubt that was because I would use it up so fast. I will definitely not repurchase this one ever again. The same goes for Catrice Eyeliner pen waterproof. I had the same issue with this one and I think I really don't know how to apply these things so I am going to opt for eyeliners in gel form and apply them with a brush or liquid eyeliners. I liked these two just because they had that lovely tip at the end that helped me a lot with shaping my line. Last one here was Catrice Precision Eye pencil in shade 060 Khakitoo. This was an ok product, but the problem is that it got too old and went all flakey on me after 5 minutes on my eyes. So well, this one just got old. Will not repurchase as I didn't like it that much plus this is an item that has been discontinued for some time now.

This is it, my empties do far. And I have just checked and I already have five more products to put in my next empties post... :) Have you tried any of these? Do they work for you?

Thanks for reading!
